A meeting of ornament and structure, Matra reinterprets the familiar language of Asian marquetry through contemporary craftsmanship. Intricate marquetry gives rhythm to its expansive tabletop, while sculpted legs lend the piece a grounded, architectural presence. From afar, the surface reads as a continuous field; up close, the precision of its individual details begins to reveal itself. By bringing an inherited ornamental language into a new context, Matra explores how familiar patterns can be carried forward through material, proportion, and craft.
